Review: Peripera's Peri Cushion Lips

Hi guys! How you doin'? I'm back with another lip product review this time, cause I can't seem to stop buying them, it's just something that's worth splurging on amirite? It's up to the point that my friends would stop me if I say I want to buy it and then I'd have to restrain myself lol. But what's online shopping is for, right? I could still buy them behind their back anyway *evil laugh* Soooo the product that I'm going to review is the new release from Peripera, Peri's Tint Cushion!

This is fairly new, I saw the ad making film featuring Song Naeun a few months ago and had no idea what it is, didn't really attract my attention either. But when I saw this on a local online shop's website, I immediately put my order! They have a really gorgeous color selection, I was having a hard time choosing which color should I pick up!

I got this in OR04 Secret Trip, they have total 8 shades availaible ranging from pink to orange shades. This also claims to have a weightless and vivid matte finish and you know I'm a sucker for matte lip products.

The packaging reminds you of old school stabilo highlighter, right? To be honest I don't really like the packaging. It's too cheap looking in my opinion, it doesn't even look like a make up product :S It looks like it belongs in my pencil case. I like the box packaging better than the actual product lol.

It comes with a tube with a sponge applicator and you have to squeeze to get the product out of the tube and blend it with the sponge. It's a very similar concept with Etude House Rosy Tint Lips, but tube isn't as hard as Etude's one so it's easier to squeeze out the product. But I'm not really a fan of these squeezing tube since you have higher chance of wasting too much product.

The texture isn't as thick as the Rosy tints, but it's still very pigmented and vibrant. I honestly disappointed how the color turned out to be, it looks more orange than the swatch from the advertisement. The main reason I choose this shade in particular is because it looks the most natural out of all which are very bright and daring.

It looks brighter and orange in real life, the photo didn't do justice. Now here's the swatch from the web.

It looks super pretty ;____; To say that I was utterly disappointed is an understatement. It's supposed to be a coral pink color if we look at the swatch. The actual color looks really similar to my Nyx Matte Lipstick in Sierra, but it looks even brighter and a little bit bold for everyday color. Other than that, I was very pleased with the consistency and the finish. It's truly matte and it's not even drying, it feels very velvety and light on your lips. Staying power is also great, as long as you don't drink or eat anything it'll last for hours.

I took out 2 points from my discontentment, 3 out of 5 it is. If you like bright and neon-y colors for your lips, this product is definitely for you. For me this is a no-go, better try out the other products from Peri's Tint series instead (their tint water is a must have!).

(+) Vivid and pigmented color
(+) Matte finish
(+) Lasting power
(+) Light texture

(-) Cheap packaging
(-) A little bit pricey compared to other Peri's lip products
(-) Misleading swatch

What do you think about this? Is this also a no-go for you? Leave your thoughts in the comment box and see you next review!

    1. true!! i just hate the fact that it absorbs the product back, what a waste of product! but luckily etude's rosy tint is a good product, while this one you might as well waste it altogether lol

  3. Wow, what an interesting choice of packaging. I do agree with your comment that it looks like it belongs in a pencil box LOL.
Never tried a sponge applicator like that and I can imagine I wouldn't like it.
