Review: Etude House Stay Up Foundation

Well guess who's back. I'm really sorry it's like the longest blogging break I've ever taken, but I've been really busy with my final thesis which hasn't been finished yet. So please accept my sincere apology! And I kinda miss you too guys :3 But of course while I was on break I didn't stop buying make up simultaneously lol. Etude House is having 50% sale on their new products so I definitely couldn't skip on that! One of the new products that I got is their newest Stay Up Foundation!

I'm not really a sucker for foundations, I'm for natural and light make up anyday, so BB creams satiate my needs. But this one caught my eye ever since Etude released it on their website. They also have not so typical selection of shades, which a lot of Korean face products don't. I got this in Beige, the other being Pure, Rosy, Ivory, and Sand.

Box + Ingredients + Shade

The packaging is very simple with its skin tone and black color. With the way the tube looks like, people could've mistaken it for a sunscreen if it weren't for the beige color. It only has 25g amount of product, which is less than a half of the amount of Etude House's BB creams. Even their Skin-fit Foundation has 30g amount of products. It's fine by me since I don't really use it daily.

The packaging also doesn't come out with a pump, but a squeeze out tube instead. I actually prefer every face products to come with pump, since it's more hygienic and convenient. It's not that hard to squeeze out but you have to be careful not to squeeze out too much, or even too little. Now I'm worried how to squeeze it out when I almost used it up.

I'm honestly surprised with its light texture. It's also easy to blend out. You can't even see much difference when I blended it out on my hand. This color is really great for medium and yellow toned skin. As for me, my hand is more yellow toned while my face is pretty much neutral. But it still works out well though! I don't like it when my face looks too pale anyway.

The coverage is superb. I have a lot of acne scarrings on the side of my face and it covers those up really well. It makes my skin looks smoother too. But you have to let it settled first for a few minutes, because when you just applied it it could looks a little bit off. I feel like my skin looks weirdly greasy. It has a semi matte finish once it settled. I usually use just one layer because I'm afraid it'll look too cakey on me. But if you really want to use two layers I recommend to use it on the area that need more coverage only.

I think this is a great foundation. For the first foundation I owned, it makes me just want to settle with this for a while before I venture in the search of better foundation. For now, this is my go to foundation!

(+) Great coverage
(+) Light texture
(+) SPF 30 PA++
(+) Slim packaging
(+) Wider selection of shade
(+) Not cakey

(-) Squeeze out tube
(-) Smaller amount of products

I really have nothing bad to say about the formula haha. If you like to try out foundations, I think this one might worth a try! What do you think guys?

  3. This really looks great, I've heard and seen some great reviews, I like that type of liquidy texture! I think all you need now is a thin emollient concealer for covering up anymore visible scars or redness! That's what I'd do!
